The number of charging stations in the field is increasing and with it the service effort. In order to verify that a charging station is charging properly and that nothing has been forgotten during (re)commissioning, a final functional test is mandatory after every maintenance or repair. This requirement has created many new challenges for charging stations manufacturers and EVSE operator, as in the past one or two real electric vehicles, each with different charging standards, were needed to test charging stations. In addition, in the event of a malfunction, the service technicians found it difficult to identify the causes in a simple manner. We have developed a solution for this: The comemso Mini-Charger tester simulates vehicle signals, communication protocols and load circuits of the charging standards DC-CCS and CHAdeMO and, if required, also AC. In this way, we have effectively put two “vehicles” in one ultra-portable, easy-to-use case. The results are displayed in real time on the touchscreen and additionally stored in the device as a report.

FOR FIELD

If you search for a device that is made for transportability and use on-site, the combined Mini-Charger-Tester is the natural choice. The device simulates vehicle signals of the charging standards DC-CCS and/or CHAdeMO or DC-China, so it represents virtually up to two vehicles in an ultraportable suitcase. This small power package is perfectly suited for maintenance, testing after commissioning / installation and shows you the test results (passed/failed) clearly on its touch display. Furthermore there are features like failure injection, set charging time, etc. The device is generally operated via the touch display. With the associated PC software, all test results can be transferred to your PC as a PDF.

In case your focus is on End-Of-Line (EOL) testing in production you should opt for this tabletop version: it‘s designed to be operated with an End-of-Line test bench to find out if the EVSE is working as expected. Of course the tabletop can as well be used in field just like the suitcase version, yet with the Mini EoL you combine most advantages of the suitcase with additional features like continuous EoL-testing for up to 8 hours per day under laboratory conditions, adjustable charging time from a few seconds to max. 60 minutes as well as automated charging tests.

Your demands are even higher? If your focus is on End-Of-Line (EOL) testing with high power charging, the Mini-Charger-Tester EOL HPC can still be installed in a single, rollable rack for loads of up to 120 kW. If you need even a higher DC battery emulation for testing the maximum performance of your EVSE you can extend your system using battery emulators to reach DC-loads of up to 500kW 1000V/500A. Please talk with our sales team to select the fitting battery emulation / bi-directional power supply. Like the tabletop version, this rack version is also designed for continuous operation of up to 8 hours per day under laboratory conditions.

  • Designed to be operated with an End-of-Line test bench
  • Supports high power charging, up to 120 kW in one 38 HU Rack, emulated EV load circuit adjustable in the range of 250V – 350V battery voltage and 5A – 250A charging current
  • By using separate battery emulators you can even reach DC-loads of up to 500kW (1000V/500A). But no 500kW mains power is necessary, since the power is regeneratively shifted in a circle – see the block diagram below for an explanation.
