WHY NOW
ISO 15118-20 extends communication for bidirectional charging and Plug & Charge. IEC 61851-23:2023 revises DC safety tests. Megawatt charging (MCS) serves trucks, NACS expands in North America, and AFIR sets infrastructure and interoperability requirements in Europe. All of it lands inside the same product cycles.
Every vehicle meets more chargers, more firmware versions and more edge cases than any lab has tested. Teams that test with real vehicles and real stations find faults late, struggle to reproduce them and need evidence of what they fixed. The cost moves from the lab to the field.

The Battery Cell Simulator sets controlled cell voltages and sensor states. Battery cell simulation makes BMS fault conditions reproducible without putting real cells at risk.
BMS scope: channel count, voltage class, sensor signals and fault types depend on the configured Battery Cell Simulator. Setups range from 24 to hundreds of channels, including high-voltage HiL configurations.

Simulate either charging partner. As an EVSE simulator, a suitably configured EVCA emulates the charging station so you can test a vehicle or EVCC under defined conditions. As an EV simulator (EV emulator), it emulates the vehicle to test charging stations and SECCs. With comframe, this simulation tool for EV charging connects communication and electrical measurements. EV simulation supports reproducible e-mobility testing; interfaces, power capability and the released test library are selected for your application.

WHAT DRIVES US
In 2009, two engineers left a vehicle manufacturer with a test task the established suppliers called too specialised. When the financial crisis cancelled the reference project, we built a prototype and invited a customer to see it. We recall the customer's response, in essence: “What you have as a prototype is better than anything available on the market so far. Can you produce it in series?”
We are still owner-led and investor-free. We still sit in standards working groups, because you cannot test against a standard you have not understood. And we still build hardware, software and manufacturing under one roof in Ostfildern. So that the people who answer your support call can work directly with the people who designed the system.
