AC EVSE Installation Tester – Easy Chester Micro
Easy Chester Micro is a compact all-in-one AC EVSE installation tester for charging stations and wallboxes. It combines grid-side and EV-side electrical safety tests, phase-sequence testing, charging-function checks and AC communication testing with ISO 15118-2, without TLS. Use one guided device for installation, commissioning, maintenance and periodic inspection.
Micro provides the AC functionality of Easy Chester Ultimate. Choose Ultimate when you also need DC charging tests.

Installation, commissioning and periodic inspection
Use Micro for guided AC installation, commissioning and maintenance checks. Record the AC charging station, configuration and results for handover and checks after repair. The selected safety functions and AC communication scope define the test.
Safety on the grid side and EV side
Combine grid-side and EV-side electrical safety checks, phase-sequence testing and charging-function tests in the selected configuration. Select the required measurement methods, ranges and safety options for the installation and applicable inspection plan.
AC ISO 15118 communication: available now and planned
AC ISO 15118-2 testing is available now without TLS, alongside charging-function and safety tests. An ISO 15118-20 test-scope extension without TLS is planned for Q1/2027. TLS is currently unavailable. This planned scope does not provide full testing of a TLS-protected ISO 15118-20 charging session or, by itself, evidence of complete AFIR conformity.
Maintenance and verification after repairs
Repeat the relevant checks after repairs or changes and during periodic inspection. Annual maintenance can be supported where it is part of the site’s maintenance plan; inspection intervals depend on the applicable requirements and operating conditions.
Released scope and roadmap
AC installation and communication testing in one device
Use the available AC functions today and distinguish them from the planned communication extension.
Grid safety, EV safety and phase-sequence testing
Combine electrical installation and safety tests with guided AC charging-function checks in one compact device.
ISO 15118-2 without TLS
AC ISO 15118-2 testing is available without TLS in the released Micro scope.
ISO 15118-20 without TLS
The planned extension remains labelled as roadmap until the corresponding product release is available.
AFIR context: check the required communication scope separately from the electrical installation tests. The planned ISO 15118-20 scope excludes TLS and does not establish full AFIR conformity. Review the AFIR evidence map.
One device. One obvious workflow.

Choose by field task
Micro for complete AC installation and maintenance checks.
Use Micro for AC. Choose Ultimate when the same field workflow must also cover DC charging stations.
Add DC charging tests with Ultimate.
- AC and DC configurations are required.
- Keep the shared AC installation and safety functions.
- Use the same guided standalone field workflow.
- ISO 15118-2 without TLS must be covered for AC and DC.
Frequently asked questions
Easy Chester Micro FAQ
Which EVSE does Easy Chester Micro test?
Easy Chester Micro is an AC EVSE installation tester for charging stations and wallboxes. It combines grid-side and EV-side safety tests, phase-sequence checks, charging-function tests and ISO 15118-2 communication without TLS.
Does Easy Chester Micro support ISO 15118-20?
ISO 15118-20 without TLS is planned for Q1/2027. It remains a roadmap item until the corresponding release is available.
Why does testing remain relevant after 1 January 2027?
The delegated AFIR technical specifications introduce an EN ISO 15118-20 route from 1 January 2027 for relevant newly deployed or renovated public charging points. A tester remains important for demonstrating released protocol behaviour and creating evidence for the defined technical scope; it does not by itself prove complete AFIR conformity.
How is Easy Chester Micro different from Ultimate?
Micro provides the AC functionality of Ultimate, including installation, electrical safety, phase-sequence, charging-function and communication testing. Ultimate adds DC charging tests.
