Your test system. Our site in Ostfildern.

Developed, built and tested at comemso

E-mobility demands innovation and speed. That is why development, manufacturing, assembly, wiring and system testing work together at our site, with direct access to high-quality equipment. Short paths let us turn feedback into the next iteration quickly. Meet the people and facilities behind your test system.

From your test task to the system

Why so much in house? Innovation needs speed.

When a new test requirement changes electronics, mechanics and software at the same time, the teams need to work closely together. Our systems are developed, built and tested at the same site. Findings can move directly from the test bench to development and manufacturing.

For your project, this means direct coordination throughout the loop: clarify the requirement, adapt the design, manufacture and assemble, wire and integrate, then test the complete system. Findings feed into the next iteration. We agree the scope and schedule for your specific configuration.

Manufacturing at comemso

Electronics, mechanics and product design in our own manufacturing

Own equipment and short paths connect electronics, mechanics, assembly and system testing. This supports quick iterations while keeping implementation and quality checks close to the development team.

Electronics assembly and inspection

SMD and THT assembly take place in our own manufacturing, supported by AI-assisted automated optical inspection (AOI). Assembly and optical inspection are directly accessible to our teams when discussing a design or a production finding.

Sheet metal and machined parts

A TRUMPF laser cutting machine and a DATRON CNC milling machine are part of our own manufacturing. Mechanical implementation can be discussed alongside electronics, interfaces and the intended test setup.

Product printing and identification

Our Canon printing system applies product designs to sheet metal parts. Product design and physical implementation can be coordinated directly with our own manufacturing.

Your DUT in a real test environment

Bring the test task into the laboratory

Our vehicle test laboratory is on the first floor and accessible by a vehicle freight lift. Electric vehicles and charging stations can be brought into the laboratory for agreed customer tests. Discuss the DUT, test cases and operating points with us before the visit.

630 kW for the test laboratory

The 630 kW connection supplies the test laboratory separately. The other buildings have their own supply. This gives us a dedicated basis for planning power-intensive customer test setups.

Two battery emulators, combinable to 500 kW

Two Gustav Klein battery emulators, each rated at 250 kW, can be combined to 500 kW. Depending on the configuration, the setup supports up to 1,000 V or 600 A. We agree the compatible power, voltage and current operating point for your test.

Connections at the test stations

Four 125 A three-phase CEE connections and CEE 32 A / CEE 16 A outlets at the test stations support different setups. We coordinate the connection and power requirements with your DUT configuration.

Our own EMC chamber

Investigate EMC behaviour during development

Our own chamber supports development investigations with a 3 m measurement distance. We can examine CISPR 25-related measurement tasks and the charging behaviour involved in an EMC test setup at our site.

Interoperability in practice

Host of the CharIN Testival EUROPE 2021

From 28 to 30 September 2021, comemso hosted the CharIN Testival EUROPE in Ostfildern. CharIN reports 213 experts from 40 international companies who came together to test interoperability between vehicles and charging stations.

See it with your own team

Bring your test task. Meet the people behind the system.

Discuss a site visit and a suitable demonstration with us. Tell us which vehicle or charging station you want to test, the interfaces and test cases that matter, and the intended operating points. We can then agree the setup and what you want to assess during the visit.
