Calibration, adjustment, maintenance and repair answer different questions

Traceability is a controlled chain

  1. Reference

    Traceable input

  2. Calibration

    As-found values

  3. Adjustment

    Where supported

  4. Verification

    Against criteria

  5. Record

    Certificate / report

  6. Release

    Approved status

Current certificate + approved scope + service order
control the binding calibration statement

The service request should name the required outcome instead of using the terms interchangeably.

Calibration

Determine the relationship between indication and a traceable reference under defined conditions.

Adjustment

Change supported parameters so the equipment better meets its intended measurement behaviour.

Verification

Confirm that defined acceptance criteria are met after calibration, adjustment, maintenance or repair.

Maintenance

Perform preventive or corrective work that keeps the system functional and serviceable.

Repair

Restore function after a confirmed defect or damage using an agreed return or on-site route.

Release management

Keep product generation, firmware, software, licences and service entitlement in a controlled baseline.

  • Scope and range defined
  • As-found values preserved
  • Certificate or report specified
  • Only where supported
  • As-found and as-left separated
  • Verification follows adjustment
  • Criteria agreed
  • Result attributable

Name the legal entity, certificate and measurement scope

ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation applies to the accredited calibration laboratory and its approved scope. It is not a generic product certification.

Use this as orientation only. The current DAkkS scope, quotation and service order remain authoritative.

Accredited calibration laboratory

comemso E-Mobility Services GmbH operates an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration laboratory. The current certificate and annex control the binding quantities, ranges, methods, locations and uncertainty.

SmartCal supports guided BCS calibration and adjustment

SmartCal addresses measurement confidence at the simulated cell channels without treating every BCS system as the same configuration.

Qualification: supported BCS generations, channel count, ranges, DMM, accessories, environmental conditions and report content must be confirmed for the current release.

  • Automated calibration and adjustment with a guided process.
  • Use of a 6.5-digit digital multimeter calibrated within an ISO/IEC 17025 context.
  • In-house route with central data storage for traceability.
  • Customer-site route with values stored in the device and an automatically generated PDF calibration report.
  • Rental or purchase route according to the current commercial offer.

Measurement status alone does not keep a test system ready

Hardware condition, software compatibility, licences, accessories, knowledge and documentation belong to one maintenance plan.

Hardware condition

Connectors, cables, modules, cooling, safety devices, transport damage and wear items.

Measurement status

Calibration due date, range, uncertainty need, drift history and relevant reference chain.

Software baseline

Software, firmware, module, API and Test Library versions plus compatibility.

Licences and entitlement

Available functions, maintenance package, E-learning access and update route.

Accessories

Adapters, connectors, coupling devices, loads, meters, cases and project-specific assemblies.

Competence

Current operators, onboarding, changed workflows and training needed after service or update.

05 / Contact & Support

Calibrating a test system is not the same as calibrating a charging station

Equipment calibration and maintenance have a different scope from EVSE energy-measurement and legal-metrology services.

Calibration & Maintenance

Preserve the measurement and operating capability of EVCA, Easy Chester, Battery Cell Simulator and related configured equipment.

Easy Chester Calimera

Use a mobile EVSE calibration workflow at installed charging infrastructure or in an approved laboratory or production configuration.

06 / Contact & Support

Define the required output before shipping equipment

A complete intake protects traceability and reduces avoidable downtime.

Equipment identity

Product, serial number, generation, modules, accessories and current location.

Requested service

Calibration, adjustment, verification, maintenance, repair, update or combined route.

Scope and range

Channels, quantities, voltage, current, resistance, timing or other required measurement points.

Certificate need

Accredited or factory route, language, customer references and any as-found requirement.

Condition

Known defect, damage, failed check, drift concern, contamination or transport event.

Schedule

Required return date, production or project milestone, shipping window and downtime risk.

08 / Contact & Support

Define the service output before the equipment moves.

State equipment, scope, requested service, certificate need, condition, location and return-to-service criteria.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Calibration determines the relationship between an indication and a traceable reference. Adjustment changes supported parameters to improve performance. A verification should follow adjustment, and as-found and as-left states should remain distinguishable.

No. Accreditation applies to the named calibration laboratory and the quantities, ranges, methods and locations in its current approved scope. It is not a universal product certification.

The public accreditation page names comemso E-Mobility Services GmbH. The current DAkkS certificate and annex are the binding evidence for the accredited scope.

Some routes can be available on site, including publicly described SmartCal workflows. Availability depends on equipment, scope, environment, location, transport, safety and the current service offer.

SmartCal is a guided calibration and adjustment route for supported Battery Cell Simulator configurations. The public description includes automated operation, a 6.5-digit digital multimeter, in-house and customer-site workflows and a PDF report.

There is no universal interval on this page. The owner should define the interval from the quality system, use, environment, drift history, risk, customer requirements and applicable regulation.

What does this service include, and what should we agree in advance?

Agree the equipment, calibration task and service location first. Review the distinctions and scope conditions in the linked answers before commissioning the service.

Field workflow planning

Choose the tool from the service question.

Describe the installed EVSE, required check, site conditions and result format.
